This amazing Raising of the Cross triptych by Rubens located in the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp, Belgium is BEYOND HUMAN. All that amazing tension, the angles across the picture plane, the foreshortening and chiaroscuro all contribute to weightiness of the theme. The cross feels like it's in a state of being raised both physically and spiritually...and that eclipse in the top right hand corner, WOW!
